We lead a heart opening movement of helping single expecting mothers in desperate situations, who have no one to count or lean on.

Our goal is to bring child abandonment to an absolute minimum

While reproductive innovations solve a wide spectrum of problems in some parts of our world in others - women are still struggling with unexpected and unwanted pregnancies.

Indonesian law prohibits abortion, unless there is a medical threat to a woman's health or if the fact of sexual violation has been proven.

Pregnancy outside of the marriage is heavily judged, stigmatized here and considered as a disgrace. Single expecting mothers in most cases are rejected by their families and forced to leave their homes due to shame. The number of unwanted pregnancies and births is catastrophic.

Every day, newborn babies are being abandoned,
an outrageous number of them are found dead in sewers, rivers, or garbage dumps.

While it will take generations to address the root cause of this dark issue Anak Kita Foundation is doing what's possibleto respond today.

We are building "Rumah Ibu" - a house specifically for a pregnant mothers in desperate life situation.

We provide expecting mothers with peaceful living  space, food, medical care, but more than anything - basic human care, sisterhood, support and acceptance.

There is no time limit on staying with us. Mother can stay at Rumah Ibu after the birth to recover as long as she needs to.

We understand that dignity and financial safety is the priority for any mother with a child. We provide safe jobs and employment, as a big part of our support system. Whether it is a juice or jamu making out of Rumah Ibu or employment at the villa complex, cafe or a restaurant- we guarantee decency and safety.

Being a single mother and working with a breastfeeding infant is extremely challenging. Our mothers can place their babies in care of our nursery, while going to work during the day.

“Safe Home” is not merely a shelter - it is a systematic approach
to a newborn child abandonment issue:

We run a hotline to provide support or address urgent issues
We offer individual strategies including employment or job placement
